Simona Hernandez is a contemporary American visual artist creating paintings and prints in Sacramento, CA.
Her art has been featured in several media including the Sacramento Bee Newspaper, KVIE Art Auction; Sacramento Magazine; and a 2006 major anthology of Mexican-American artists, “Triumph of our Communities: Four Decades of Mexican-American Art.” Simona’s Fine Arts is both her legal business name and the title of her YouTube art channel.
Simona holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Journalism, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of California, Sacramento. Her career, outside art, includes nearly three decades as a publisher and analyst in the government sector. Additionally, she operated a part-time photography business in the early 1990s.
In 1992, she co-founded the Comadres Artistas, six visual Chicana artists and long-time community activists within the Sacramento area. She exhibited with this artist cooperative for nearly a decade. In 2009 and again in 2015 she operated public Sacramento studios. With the advancement of technology, she found it more beneficial to operate her art business out of her home studio choosing to exhibit at public venues.
