DO ALL ARTISTS TAKE ON ART COMMISSIONS?

Updated: Apr 7

This painting was based on a very old photograph. It was a commission for a special friend for a special reason. It is the only one I've done in the past several years. I've been creating art for a very long time and have significant training/experience (Art B.A.;

and worked as a graphic artist, photo retouch artist, exhibiting artist, etc.). Through school and work, I created what was required. But there came a point in my life where I wanted to focus on my life's story, so I almost stopped taking commissioned work. On this earth, we have many shared experiences especially among people of the same community and of similar cultures. I'm often told that my art appeals to individuals because it also tells their story. I love making that personal connection.
