IS THERE A BOOK ABOUT CHICANO ARTISTS?

Updated: Apr 7

There exists a major anthology of Mexican American (Chicano/a, Hispanic) artists who created art between 1960 through 1999 entitled, “Triumph of our Communities: Four Decades of Mexican American Art” published in 2006.

It was a pleasure to sign these books on the pages that displayed my art while at a fundraiser in 2018. My art was on exhibit and I had donated a piece for college scholarships supported by the California Association of Latino Superintendents & Administrators (CALSA). Hector Gonzalez and his brother Louie “The Foot” Gonzalez (both early Royal Chicano Art Force members--a political Chicano art group) obtained several of these books from the publisher to sell at the fundraiser. Their niece, Elizabeth Aguirre, coordinated that year’s event…a family deeply involved in their community!

Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this book. I can either help you contact a Sacramento seller; or provide a link to purchase it online.

My art is on my website:
